Colorado Jeepin

Colorado Jeepin – Ouray to Silverton, Black Canyon of The Gunnison

Ride along with us as we rent a 4×4 and travel some awesome backcountry Colorado roads. Couldn’t think of a better way to see these high elevation passes and old mining remnants than from the back seat of an open top Jeep. After a couple days in Ouray, we made a quick trip to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison and cooled off for the long drive home. Can’t wait to go back, Colorado is always one of my favorite destinations.

Alaska: North to the Future

On 24, Jun 2017 | In Travel | By thebrice

Alaska: North to the Future (Part 1) – Kenai Fjords, Exit Glacier, Aialik Glacier- June 2017

It doesn’t get more picturesque Alaska than tidal glaciers and snowy mountain coastlines. Join us on an epic hike up Exit Glacier, a small sliver of the Harding ice field, and kayak with all the seals in Aialik bay. Paddling through the glacial ice debris for an up front view of calving, with turkey wrap in hand, was one of the most standout memories of my entire life. Makes sure to check out part 2 dropping tonight!

Alaska: North to the Future (Part 2) – Tonsina Creek, Byron Glacier, Denali National Park- June 2017

All the wildlife! Seriously, Denali was an incredible experience. I could have ridden those green buses forever, admiring wildlife around every corner and eyeing up endless river valleys. We were extremely lucky to have two clear views of the peak, and that vertical rise is something to behold. Alaska stands out strongly from many other places I have been and I know we will be back soon.

Washington Baecation – Touring the Olympic Peninsula

Completely spoiled with multiple clear days in Washington, as we hiked all around the typical Olympic Peninsula stops. Had an absolute blast camping with my friends and I can’t wait to go back. Take all that beautiful 4k in, cause it is hard to edit and I didn’t feel like going back for a few mistakes. Time for a computer rig upgrade? Thanks for stopping by.

Sounds of Yosemite National Park

We had an amazing spring weekend in the Yosemite valley, just spending time taking in the sights and sounds. The waterfalls were so swollen with snowmelt! This was my first time using the sony camera, and it definitely shows (Sorry for all the over-exposures…)

New Zealand: South Island Roadtrip

On 15, Mar 2017 | In Travel, Uncategorized | By thebrice

Roys Peak, Fox Glacier, Hokitika Gorge (Part 1)

The start to our epic car camping voyage throughout New Zealand’s South Island. The days included on this edit took us hiking in the coulds on Roys Peak, up through Haast Pass, and to glow worm caves and blue water on the coast in Hokitika. Stayed tuned for the rest of the clips from the trip through New Zealand.

Mt. Sunday , Mt. Cook, Routeburn Track (Part 2)

Continuing our journey around the bottom half of New Zealands South Island, this video covers a trip to Mt. Sunday, aka LOTR nerd heaven. We spent the next day hiking Sealy Tarns and the Hooker Track in the Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park. The tramping didn’t stop there as we continued onto one of New Zealands famous Great Walks, the Routeburn Track, in which we completed our 45th hiking mile of the trip and camped in a backcountry hut!

Milford Sound, Lake Manapouri, Doubtful Sound (Part 3)

The final days of the South Island Roadtrip take us through a very wet and dark Milford Sound, which is actually not a bad thing, waterfalls were popping up everywhere! Lastly we crossed through Lake Manapouri and into Doubtful Sound. Tons of wildlife on this section of the trip!

Expedition Peru

Machu Picchu, OllantayTambo, and Cusco (Part 1)

This trip was my first to the southern hemisphere, and it did not disappoint! Our schedule was swift but we still managed to see so many interesting and fun things in Peru. I can’t wait to go back, there was so much more in South America I must see! This video covers our voyage to and from Machu Picchu, as well as various places around Cusco. Stay tuned for Part 2 of this trip in the amazon jungle.

Amazon Planet – Madre De Dios , Puerto Maldonado (Part 2)

Visiting the jungle was a stark contrast from the high desert I have called home my whole life, it was unlike any place I have ever experienced before! The diversity of flora and fauna were astounding, and there was so much water. It was so hot, humid, and incredibly beautiful! We lucked out on perfect weather, even in the rainy season. This is a place I look forward to seeing again!

Our hosts, Amazon Planet, were exceptional and so full of knowledge. Mad props to our guide Ronell for teaching the group about everything surrounding us and taking a pro-active approach to preserving the life and plants native to the amazon. The animals you see in the video are being rehabilitated for re-entry into the wild, and the staff works hard to educate locals of sound procedures for preserving the forest. By staying with Amazon Planet a portion of your bill fund the animal reserve, so if you are interested in traveling to this area of the world, they are a worthy lodge with excellent expeditions, delicious local food, and a staff only looking to please.

On 20, Nov 2016 | In Travel, Uncategorized | By thebrice

Enjoyed a much needed escape to the red rocks of Utah to tune out the turmoil of the world for a moment. Visited Arches/Canyonlands National Parks’ over a long weekend. My cheeks still hurt form laughing around the table and my calves burn from the Fiery Furnace. Cheers to the good times!

Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout

On 06, Aug 2016 | In Travel, Uncategorized | By thebrice

Hike to the Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout

The Sierra Buttes Fire Lookout sits atop an ancient underwater volcano at a little over 8,500 ft high. It has spectacular views of the many alpine lakes and cliffs comprising the buttes. It was a hot hike, that was rewarded by a swim in the afternoon. Definitely recommend the hike and campgrounds if you are looking for a quick getaway from Reno!
